The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, through its Regional Office (North India), organised a Familiarisation-cum-Educational Visit to the Grand International Exposition “The Light & the Lotus: Relics of the Awakened One” at the Rai Pithora Cultural Complex, South Delhi on 07th February, 2026, exclusively for members of the Regional Tourist Guides Association (RTGA), Delhi, proficient in foreign languages and catering to international tourists. Special emphasis was placed on guides fluent in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Thai, who regularly escort Buddhist pilgrimage groups.
The visit aimed to provide first-hand exposure to the sacred Piprahwa relics of Lord Buddha and the exposition’s thematic narrative, strengthening interpretative skills for international pilgrims and cultural tourists.
Subject experts briefed the delegation on the historical, archaeological and spiritual significance of the relics and the teachings of Lord Buddha. Participants appreciated the initiative, expected to enhance Buddhist heritage tourism.
