To mark its 29 glorious years of its service to Tourism Industry, ADTOI in a glittering ceremony celebrated its Founders Day with the theme ‘Independence Day” on 7th August 2025 at the Lalit, New Delhi. The venue was decorated with tri-colour balloons with matching backdrop showing “29 Glorious Years”. The event was attended by dignitaries, invitees, ADTOI members in huge numbers and press/Media. Sqr.Ldr. Rana T.S. Chhina was the Chief Guest of the occasion along with serving officers from Armed Forces. Founder Members and Past Presidents were present on this auspicious occasion for whom the day belonged. All of them were felicitated and they addressed the House with a short speech bringing anecdotes of their time and their contribution to the growth of the Association. The highlight of the day was conferring AKR Award (ADTOI Knowledge & Research Award) by ADTOI Management Team headed by Mr. Ved Khanna to Mr. Ashwani Lohani, a multifaceted personality and a doyen of Tourism Industry who presently holds the portfolio of Director, Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library Society. Mr. Ashwani Lohani accepting the award thanked the management for this kind gesture of conferring the award upon him.

AKR Award was instituted to honour to eminent personalities from the Tourism Industry who contributes to the growth of the Industry. The first award was conferred upon Shri Anil K. Rajput posthumously for his untiring efforts to promote lesser known destinations in the country and specially spending time in his research by visiting such areas to collect details to promote among the tourists.
