The Russian House in New Delhi hosted the grand opening of the First Russian-Indian Youth Forum, which brought together over 300 people — a new platform for strengthening friendship, cultural exchange and professional interaction between the youth of the two countries.
The head of Rossotrudnichestvo Mr. Evgeny Primakov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech in the form of a video address, noting the special role of young people in building the future of Russian-Indian relations. The participants were also greeted by the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in the Republic of India Dr Elena Remizova, emphasizing the importance of such a dialogue for the development of bilateral ties.
The forum guests were introduced to the key areas of Rossotrudnichestvo’s work: studying at Russian universities under the government quota, participation in short-term study tours within the framework of the “New Generation” program, as well as the opportunity to study Russian at courses offered at the Russian House in New Delhi.
Of particular interest were the speeches by representatives of the National Preparatory Committee of the Republic of India, a country participating in the World Youth Festival. They shared their plans and a rich program for the upcoming festival, noting its importance as a space for international cooperation and exchange of experience.
Also, within the framework of the forum, an expert of the A. M. Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, Liana Saakyants, spoke in detail about the internship opportunities for foreign specialists in Russia in various fields.
The first day ended with the screening of the documentary film “Russia. Kremlin. Putin. 25 years”, which evoked a lively response from the Indian audience. The audience enthusiastically noted the dynamic plot, candid interviews with the President and unique archival materials, including rare footage from the personal life of the head of state.
The film became an occasion for deep reflection on modern Russia, its achievements and historical path, and the forum itself became a starting point for new joint projects and strong friendship between the youth of Russia and India.
